Lloyd Sukgyo Lee

Lloyd Sukgyo Lee is an architectural designer and the founder of Volume64. Lloyd holds MA(Hons) Architecture from the University of Edinburgh and Diploma from the Architectural Association (AADipl). While studying at the AA he developed strong interests in cultural identities embedded within architecture and their impact on architectural organisation. His interests eventually led him to co-found Volume64 - a collaborative platform in which students from different universities experiment with the ‘norms’ that define typological identities. After finishing his diploma project investigating different ways local architectures could respond to international architecture of contemporary era, he worked at UNA (Hamburg) and Grimshaw (London) on a number of cultural projects. Since 2018, Lloyd acted as unit tutor for Polar Lab and AAVS Seoul for the Architectural Association; guest critic for the Architectural Association, TU Eindhoven, INDA, and the Bartlett; and a speaker for Research Symposium at the University of Edinburgh. Lloyd has also worked on a number of exhibitions and expositions, including Salone del Mobile, Seoul Biennale of Architecture and Urbanism, and the Venice Biennale. Currently he works as an architectural designer in London, working mainly on Volume64 and freelance projects.
